Trek Around Dharamshala

There is couple of short treks in and around Dharamshala from easy to moderate. Dharamshala Minkiani is the ideal trek to see some monasteries around and Dal Lake. Dharamshala Minkian Pass treks take you though Tibetan children Village, Satubadi and Ghera. 

You will see Pine trees en route with magnificent scenic views and forests. And also have a chance to interact with local people, know more about there life and culture.

Destinations Covered: Delhi – Patankot- Macleodgunj – Kareri Village – Kareri Lake – Minkiani Gote over Minkiani Pass – Minkiani Gote – Drakund – Dunali – Chamba – Pathankot – Delhi

Day 01 : Arrival New Delhi
Meet and greet upon arrival in New Delhi.
Transfer to hotel in New Delhi, overnight at Hotel.

Day 02 : Delhi – Patankot – Macleodgunj
In time transfer to railway station to board train to Pathankot.
Pick up from Railway station and drive to Macleodgunj, overnight at hotel.

Day 03 : McLeodganj – Kareri village
After breakfast start trek, first reach to Karei village.
Village inhabited by Shepherds, en route visit Tibetan children Village, Dal lake, Satubari and Ghera.
Overnight in Camp

Day 04 : Kareri Village – Kareri Lake (3150 M)
A steep trek to Kali Mandir along with Kareri Nalah, Nag Mandir.
Trek through forests, overnight in Camp.

Day 05 : Kareri Lake – Minkiani Gote over Minkiani Pass (3250 M) 
Trek through the pass Minkiani Gote, further it goes to Lamdal Lake and northwards it descends to Chamba Valley. You may also witness a sudden change in weather its normal phenomenon near the pass.
Overnight in Camp

Day 06 : Minkiani Gote – Drakund, 1900 M
Descends to Lamdal Nallah to Drakund, Drakund is also having a forest rest house.
This region is dominated by Gaddis and Gujjars. You will also see herds of sheep and buffaloes.
Overnight in tents 

Day 07 : Drakund – Dunali – Chamba
Trek to Dunali, which is located on Chamba-Bharmaur road.
Drive to Chamba, overnight at hotel in Chamba.
The Chamba town is also famous for Laxmi Narayan Temple, Bhuj Singh Museum, Chogun and Chamunda Temple etc.

Day 08 : Chamba – Pathankot
In time drive to Pathankot Railway station to Catch train to New Delhi.
