Book the Best Yamunotri Dham Yatra Package from Haridwar

a short, organised and comfortable Ek Dham journey from Haridwar. The package
follows the practical Haridwar–Barkot–Janki Chatti route and includes the
essential arrangements needed for a smooth road journey and temple visit.
From Barkot, pilgrims travel by road to Janki Chatti, the usual starting point
for the final approach to Yamunotri Temple. The shrine is reached by a steep
mountain trail that can be covered on foot or with locally booked pony or
palki assistance. Our itinerary allows an early start, adequate time for
darshan and a return stay in Barkot on the same evening.
Yamunotri Dham’s officially listed opening date for the 2026 season is
19 April 2026. Temple timings and the closing date should be
reconfirmed before travel.
About Yamunotri Dham
Yamunotri Dham lies in the Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarkashi district and is
dedicated to Goddess Yamuna. It is one of the four shrines in Uttarakhand’s
Chota Char Dham circuit and is traditionally visited before Gangotri,
Kedarnath and Badrinath.
The temple is surrounded by high mountains, forested valleys and natural hot
springs. Surya Kund, a hot-water spring close to the shrine, is associated
with the preparation of rice or potatoes as prasad. Pilgrims also worship
Divya Shila before entering the temple. The actual source of the Yamuna lies
higher in the mountain region, while the temple serves as the accessible
centre of worship.
Yamunotri Temple

in the traditional Char Dham sequence.
Surya Kund
A natural hot spring near the temple where devotees traditionally prepare
a small offering as prasad.

How to Reach Yamunotri Temple
On Foot
The commonly used route from Janki Chatti is approximately 5–6 km each
way. It is steep in parts and can take several hours depending on fitness,
weather and crowd levels.
Pony or Palki
Registered pony and palki services are normally arranged locally at the
official counter. Rates and availability are controlled locally and are
not included unless stated in writing.
Helicopter Package
Yamunotri helicopter tours generally operate as package or charter
services from Dehradun to the Kharsali area, subject to availability and
weather. They do not land at Yamunotri Temple.
Final Temple Approach
Even with a helicopter package, passengers require ground transfers and
a trek, pony or palki journey from the Kharsali/Janki Chatti side to reach
the shrine.
The official IRCTC HeliYatra portal is for Kedarnath and Hemkund Sahib
services. Do not use that portal expecting a regular Yamunotri shuttle, and
avoid paying unverified agents who promise guaranteed temple landing.
2026 Yatra Registration
Registration is required for the Uttarakhand Char Dham Yatra. Each pilgrim
should register using the official Uttarakhand Tourist Care portal, download
the Yatra Registration Letter with its QR code and carry a valid identity
document during the journey. Vehicle registration may also be required.
Best Time to Visit Yamunotri
Late April to June
The opening period and early summer generally attract the highest number
of pilgrims. Book transport and hotels early and expect busy trails.
September to October
The post-monsoon season can offer clearer views and fewer crowds, although
mornings and evenings become considerably colder.
July and August can bring heavy rainfall, landslides and temporary road
closures. Always check the weather and official travel advisories before
departure.
