The Uttarakhand Char Dham Yatra links four sacred Himalayan shrines. Yamunotri is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna, Gangotri to Goddess Ganga, Kedarnath to Lord Shiva and Badrinath to Lord Vishnu. The journey moves through river valleys, mountain towns and high-altitude pilgrimage routes where weather and road conditions can change quickly.
Our core itinerary is a 9-night/10-day Haridwar round trip. Travellers starting in Delhi should book the 10-night/11-day version, which adds a Delhi-to-Haridwar arrival day before the mountain circuit. This avoids presenting a Delhi package that actually begins in Haridwar.
The detailed itinerary below begins and ends in Haridwar. Pickup from Rishikesh or Dehradun can be quoted with adjusted timings. For Delhi, add Day 1 from Delhi to Haridwar; the mountain itinerary then operates on Days 2–11.
The official Uttarakhand Tourist Care portal currently lists the following opening dates. Temple timings and closing dates should be checked again before departure because the competent authorities may update operational information.
Opening date: 19 April 2026
Opening date: 19 April 2026
Opening date: 22 April 2026
Opening date: 23 April 2026
Every pilgrim and tour vehicle must be registered on the official Uttarakhand Tourist Care system. Carry the Yatra Registration Letter with QR code and a valid government-issued photo ID. Verification is required at designated checkpoints and at the Dhams.
Trek from Janki Chatti to the Yamunotri Temple and visit the sacred Surya Kund and Divya Shila.
Travel through the beautiful Harsil valley and seek blessings at the temple dedicated to Goddess Ganga.
Complete the approximately 16 km uphill route from Gaurikund or use a separately booked authorised helicopter service.
Attend darshan at the Vishnu shrine and visit Mana, Vyas Gufa or Bhim Pul when access and the day's schedule permit.

All distances and driving times are approximate. Rain, landslides, traffic, route controls, temple arrangements and guest health may require changes.
Meet the driver at the confirmed Haridwar pickup point and travel towards Barkot. A short Mussoorie or Kempty Falls stop may be included when traffic, daylight, parking and road conditions permit.
Arrive in Barkot, check in and rest before the Yamunotri trek.
Night stay: Barkot
Depart early for Janki Chatti, the usual starting point for the Yamunotri trail. Continue on foot or hire an authorised pony or palki at personal expense. Visit Divya Shila, Surya Kund and Yamunotri Temple according to local queue and darshan arrangements.
Return to Janki Chatti and drive back to Barkot. Walking distance can vary with the operating trail and final vehicle drop point.
Night stay: Barkot
After breakfast, travel to Uttarkashi. Visit Kashi Vishwanath Temple after arrival when opening hours and the group's energy permit. Use the remaining time to rest before the Gangotri excursion.
Night stay: Uttarkashi
Leave early and follow the Bhagirathi valley towards Gangotri. Drive through the Harsil region and stop at a safe viewpoint when conditions allow. Gangnani may be visited only when the route, parking and timing remain suitable.
Complete darshan at Gangotri Temple and spend a little time by the Bhagirathi before returning to Uttarkashi.
Night stay: Uttarkashi
Travel towards the Mandakini valley. The final hotel may be in Guptkashi, Sitapur, Rampur or another confirmed location according to availability. Visit Vishwanath or Ardhnarishwar Temple only when arrival time and temple hours allow.
Prepare a light day bag and confirm the next morning's reporting time for Sonprayag or the assigned helipad.
Night stay: Guptkashi, Sitapur, Rampur or nearby
Trek option: Drive to Sonprayag before dawn, continue by authorised local shuttle to Gaurikund and begin the approximately 16 km uphill trek. The walk commonly takes 6–8 hours and may take longer in difficult weather or heavy pilgrimage traffic.
Helicopter option: Report to the helipad printed on the confirmed ticket. Services may operate from Guptkashi, Phata or Sirsi, subject to official booking, weather, passenger requirements and availability. Helicopter tickets are not included unless clearly stated in the voucher.
After reaching Kedarnath, check in and attend darshan according to current temple and queue arrangements.
Night stay: Basic hotel, lodge or camp in Kedarnath
Attend early darshan when practical, then descend to Gaurikund. Continue by local shuttle to Sonprayag and meet the tour vehicle at the assigned pickup point. Helicopter guests follow the reporting instructions on their tickets.
Parking and mobile connectivity around Sonprayag can be difficult. The driver and guests should agree on a meeting point and backup contact procedure before departure.
Night stay: Guptkashi, Sitapur, Rampur or nearby
Start early for Badrinath. The driver will use the route permitted by current road and traffic controls. A Joshimath or Narsingh Temple visit is possible only when it does not delay safe arrival.
Check in at Badrinath and attend evening darshan or aarti when arrival time, temple operations and guest wellbeing allow.
Night stay: Badrinath
Complete Badrinath darshan according to the confirmed timing. Bathing in Tapt Kund is optional and should be avoided when medically unsuitable, overcrowded or restricted.
Visit Mana, Vyas Gufa, Ganesh Gufa or Bhim Pul when road access and time permit. Continue towards Rudraprayag. Stops near Vishnuprayag, Nandprayag and Karnaprayag depend on traffic, daylight and safe parking.
Night stay: Rudraprayag
Drive to Haridwar through Srinagar and Devprayag. Visit Maa Dhari Devi Temple and a Devprayag viewpoint when the sites are open and parking, traffic and daylight permit.
Arrive at the confirmed Haridwar hotel or railway-station drop point. Avoid booking a tightly timed onward train immediately after a mountain journey.
Tour ends: Haridwar
The practical Delhi programme is 10 nights/11 days. On Day 1, travel from Delhi to Haridwar, check in and attend the Ganga Aarti if arrival time permits. The Haridwar Char Dham circuit then operates from Days 2–11. A return transfer from Haridwar to Delhi can be quoted separately or added as another day for a more comfortable schedule.
Adding Delhi road travel to the first and final mountain days creates excessive driving and increases the risk of missed darshan or onward travel. Ask for the 11-day or 12-day Delhi version if comfort is important.
The official route is approximately 16 km from Gaurikund. Start early, walk steadily and follow police and district instructions.
Hire only through authorised counters. Rates, reporting points and availability are controlled locally and paid directly.
Book only through the official IRCTC HeliYatra channel. Flights remain subject to weather, operational clearance and ticket conditions.
Darshan slots, queues and temple entry are controlled by the authorities. TravelTrek can assist with coordination, but priority or VIP access is included only when officially authorised and expressly confirmed in writing.
Air conditioning is normally used where road and weather conditions permit. It may be switched off on steep mountain sections and is not a substitute for ventilation or heating.
Late April to June is popular because the temples are open and many families travel during the school holiday period. September and October can offer a quieter experience after the main monsoon, but nights are colder and seasonal closures approach.
Haridwar and Delhi durations are shown separately so travellers understand the real travel time before booking.
Vehicle and room plans can be adjusted for couples, families, senior citizens and private groups.
The final quotation identifies accommodation, meals, transport and chargeable local services before confirmation.
The recommended road programme is 9 nights/10 days from Haridwar and 10 nights/11 days from Delhi. Add another day if you prefer a more relaxed Delhi return.
The official portal lists Yamunotri and Gangotri on 19 April, Kedarnath on 22 April and Badrinath on 23 April 2026. Recheck official information before making non-refundable arrangements.
Yes. Pilgrims and vehicles must be registered, and pilgrims should carry the QR-coded registration letter and valid photo identification.
The official route is approximately 16 km uphill from Gaurikund and the same distance back. The walk commonly takes 6–8 hours each way.
Assistance may be provided, but tickets must use the official IRCTC HeliYatra system and remain subject to availability, weather and the operator's conditions.
No unrestricted VIP darshan is promised. Only assistance officially authorised and expressly stated in the final voucher is included.
Suitability depends on health, mobility, altitude tolerance and medical advice. Senior travellers may need a slower itinerary, accessible rooms, shorter walking plans or authorised pony, palki or helicopter services.
Breakfast and dinner are normally included when printed in the quotation. Lunch, snacks, drinks and special dietary items are usually extra.
