Slow down in the Garhwal Himalayas with a peaceful stay in Siri Village, Chamoli. This thoughtfully planned journey combines a village homestay, local walks, Garhwali hospitality and the river confluences of Devprayag, Karnaprayag and Nandprayag.
Siri is a small Himalayan settlement in the Karnaprayag block of Chamoli district. Located away from Uttarakhand's busy tourist centres, it is best suited to travellers who enjoy unhurried mornings, mountain scenery, local food and meaningful interaction with village hosts.
The experience is intentionally simple. Instead of a packed sightseeing schedule, guests spend time walking through the village, learning about everyday Garhwali life and exploring nearby valleys and river confluences at a comfortable pace.
Chamoli district has more than one settlement recorded as Siri or Seeri. This itinerary is designed for Siri Village in Karnaprayag block. TravelTrek will share the confirmed homestay name and map pin with the driver before the journey.
Stay with local hosts and experience the warmth, simplicity and rhythm of village life in the Garhwal Himalayas.
Discover traditional food, farming practices, local stories and regional customs through respectful interaction with residents.
Enjoy gentle walks through terraced fields and forested surroundings, subject to weather, trail conditions and local guidance.
Travel through Devprayag and visit Karnaprayag and Nandprayag, three important confluences along the Alaknanda river system.
Driving times are approximate and may change because of traffic, weather, road works and mountain conditions. Sightseeing is adjusted to the actual arrival time.
Depart from Delhi in the morning and travel to Rishikesh. After checking in, relax at the hotel. If time permits, visit Triveni Ghat or attend an evening Ganga Aarti at an operating ghat. Local traffic and event timings determine the final programme.
Night stay: Rishikesh
Leave Rishikesh after breakfast and follow the mountain road towards Chamoli. Stop at Devprayag to view the confluence of the Bhagirathi and Alaknanda, subject to safe parking and road conditions. Continue through Srinagar and Rudraprayag towards Karnaprayag, then proceed to the confirmed Siri Village homestay.
Meet your hosts, settle into the property and enjoy a simple home-style dinner.
Night stay: Siri Village homestay or cottage
Wake up to a peaceful Himalayan morning. Explore the village with a local host or guide and observe terraced farms, traditional homes and everyday rural life. Depending on the season and residents' availability, guests may learn about local produce, cooking traditions or regional customs.
A short nature walk may be arranged on a suitable trail. Bonfire and cultural activities are offered only when permitted by the property, weather and local fire-safety rules.
Night stay: Siri Village homestay or cottage
After breakfast, visit Karnaprayag, where the Alaknanda and Pindar rivers meet. Continue towards Nandprayag to see the confluence of the Alaknanda and Nandakini. The day may also include a local market stop or an additional village walk, depending on road conditions and guest preference.
Return to Siri in the afternoon and spend the final evening with your hosts.
Night stay: Siri Village homestay or cottage
Begin the return journey before sunrise and travel towards Delhi via Karnaprayag, Rudraprayag, Devprayag and Rishikesh. Meal and comfort stops will be taken along the way. Arrival in Delhi is expected late in the evening, subject to mountain and city traffic.
Families, senior citizens and travellers who prefer shorter driving days should add an extra night in Rishikesh and return to Delhi on Day 6.
Joshimath and Auli should not be treated as a short local excursion from Siri. Mountain driving, traffic and ropeway operating hours can make a same-day return rushed.
Add two nights in Joshimath: travel from Siri to Joshimath on Day 4, explore Auli on Day 5, return to Rishikesh on Day 6 and continue to Delhi on Day 7. The Auli ropeway is subject to operation, weather, maintenance and ticket availability.
The most convenient option for this package is a private vehicle from Delhi or Rishikesh via Devprayag, Rudraprayag and Karnaprayag.
Jolly Grant Airport near Dehradun is the practical airport for the region. A private road transfer is required from the airport to Siri.
Haridwar and Rishikesh are convenient rail arrival points for connecting road transfers. Train tickets should be booked separately unless included in writing.
Generally pleasant for village walks and family travel, although daytime and evening temperatures can vary.
Heavy rain can cause landslides, delays and road closures. Flexible plans and official travel advisories are essential.
Often preferred for clearer post-monsoon views and quieter travel. Nights become progressively colder.
Cold conditions and possible snow can affect access and property availability. Travel only after confirming local conditions.
Siri is a residential village, not a staged attraction. Ask before photographing residents, homes, farms or religious places. Dress respectfully, keep noise low and avoid entering private land without permission.
Carry reusable items, do not leave plastic waste and follow the host's instructions for water, electricity and waste disposal. Purchasing local food or handicrafts is a simple way to support the community directly.
We plan mountain travel with realistic driving times, rest stops and suitable overnight locations.
The driver receives the confirmed village, property details and map pin before departure.
Vehicle type, rooms, meal plan and optional extensions can be adjusted for couples, families and private groups.
This itinerary covers Siri Village in Karnaprayag block, Chamoli district, Uttarakhand. The exact homestay pin is shared before travel.
The standard package is 5 days and 4 nights. Adding a Rishikesh return night creates a more relaxed 6-day plan.
No. Kedarnath is in a different direction and requires a separate road-and-trek itinerary. It cannot be inserted into Day 5 of this village tour.
Yes, but a 7-day programme with two nights near Joshimath is recommended. Auli ropeway operation and tickets remain subject to availability and weather.
It can be customised for seniors, but the long final drive should be split with an extra night in Rishikesh. Mobility and medical requirements must be shared before booking.
Accommodation is generally a locally operated homestay or simple cottage. The selected property and room facilities are confirmed in the quotation.
Activities depend on season, weather, host availability and local consent. Only services specifically written in the booking confirmation are guaranteed.
Breakfast and dinner at the confirmed hotels or homestays are included unless the quotation states otherwise. Lunch, snacks and beverages are normally extra.
April to June and September to November are generally preferred. Travellers must still check current weather and road advisories before departure.
