Seek the blessings of Lord Shiva at Kedarnath and Lord Vishnu at Badrinath on a carefully coordinated Do Dham journey from Haridwar. This compact five-day package combines mountain transportation, accommodation, selected meals and practical pilgrimage assistance for families and private groups.
Kedarnath and Badrinath are among the most revered pilgrimage destinations in the Garhwal Himalayas. Kedarnath is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, while Badrinath is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and forms part of both the Uttarakhand Char Dham and the wider Char Dham tradition.
TravelTrek’s Kedarnath and Badrinath Yatra Package from Haridwar combines the principal arrangements in one plan. Transport, hotels, selected meals and route coordination can be customised according to your travel date, passengers, room requirements and preferred vehicle.
This is a demanding five-day itinerary. It requires either a same-day Kedarnath ascent and descent with a very early start or confirmed helicopter, pony or palki arrangements. Families, senior pilgrims and travellers walking both ways should seriously consider a six-day or longer programme.
Kedarnath Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and stands high in the Mandakini valley. Pilgrims travel by road to Sonprayag, continue by authorised local transport to Gaurikund and then proceed towards Kedarnath on foot or by an approved alternative.
Official Uttarakhand travel information describes the trek from Gaurikund to Kedarnath as approximately 16 km one way. Walking time varies with fitness, weather, crowd levels and route conditions. Pony and palki services are separately operated, while helicopter shuttle services may operate from authorised helipads such as Phata, Sirsi and Guptkashi.
Badrinath Temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and stands beside the Alaknanda River in Chamoli district. Unlike Kedarnath, the shrine is accessible by a motorable mountain road, although the final sector can be affected by weather, roadworks, landslides and official traffic controls.
Pilgrims may visit Tapt Kund and attend temple darshan according to current access arrangements. Mana village and other nearby sacred places can be included only when the arrival time, road conditions and final itinerary allow.
Travel from Haridwar in a suitable private car, SUV, Tempo Traveller or group vehicle selected according to passengers and luggage.
Overnight stays in the Sitapur, Sonprayag or Guptkashi sector, near Badrinath and in Rudraprayag according to the confirmed itinerary.
Breakfast and dinner can be included as written in the quotation. Meal options in remote pilgrimage areas may be simple and vegetarian.
The programme is designed around Kedarnath and Badrinath darshan, subject to registration, tokens, queues and temple arrangements.
Selected Prayags, Joshimath and route attractions may be included when road conditions, daylight and the operating schedule permit.
Share health, mobility, room and meal requirements so a suitable vehicle and travel category can be proposed.
Meet the driver at the confirmed Haridwar pickup point and travel through Rishikesh, Devprayag, Srinagar and Rudraprayag towards the Kedarnath valley. The mountain route follows the Alaknanda and Mandakini river systems.
If daylight and opening hours permit, visit the Ardhanarishwar or Vishwanath Temple in Guptkashi. Continue to the confirmed hotel in Sitapur, Sonprayag or the Guptkashi sector for dinner and an overnight stay.
Leave before dawn and use the authorised local shuttle between Sonprayag and Gaurikund. Private tour vehicles are normally unable to continue beyond the designated point. From Gaurikund, begin the approximately 16 km ascent to Kedarnath.
Walking the route usually takes several hours each way. Pony and palki services are separately booked and subject to availability and official rates. Pilgrims using a confirmed helicopter shuttle must follow the operator’s helipad, reporting, baggage and weight instructions.
After darshan, descend to Gaurikund and return by authorised local transport. Continue to the confirmed hotel in the Sitapur, Sonprayag or Guptkashi sector for an overnight stay.
After an early breakfast, travel from the Kedarnath valley towards Badrinath. The route passes Rudraprayag, Karnaprayag, Nandaprayag and Joshimath before entering the final mountain sector.
This is a long driving day. On arrival, check in at the confirmed hotel near Badrinath, Pandukeshwar or Joshimath. Evening Badrinath darshan or aarti is possible only if the vehicle reaches in time and current temple arrangements permit.
Visit Badrinath Temple early if darshan was not completed the previous evening. Pilgrims who wish to visit Tapt Kund should follow official health and access instructions.
If the group is ready on time and local access permits, make a short visit to Mana village. Begin the return journey through Joshimath and the Alaknanda valley. Brief stops near Vishnuprayag, Nandaprayag or Karnaprayag depend on traffic, daylight and the final route.
Reach Rudraprayag and check in at the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, check out and drive towards Haridwar. Stop at Devprayag when road conditions and the day’s schedule permit to view the sacred confluence of the Bhagirathi and Alaknanda rivers.
Continue through Rishikesh and conclude the tour at the agreed hotel, railway station or another accessible Haridwar drop-off point. A Dehradun or airport drop can be quoted separately.
The official route is approximately 16 km one way from Gaurikund. A same-day return requires excellent fitness, an early start and favourable conditions.
Available through authorised local arrangements, subject to official rates, health suitability, route conditions and availability.
May be arranged separately for pilgrims requiring assistance. Advance planning is recommended during busy dates.
May operate from authorised helipads including Phata, Sirsi and Guptkashi, subject to weather, availability and operator conditions.
The principal Shiva shrine of the journey, located high in the Mandakini valley and reached by trek or authorised alternatives.
A revered Vishnu temple beside the Alaknanda River and the second principal shrine included in the package.
An important pilgrimage town on the Kedarnath route, known for temples including Vishwanath and Ardhanarishwar.
A major gateway to Badrinath. A temple visit can be added only when sufficient daylight and route time are available.
A sacred and scenic settlement near Badrinath that may be visited with an early start and suitable local access.
The journey passes several sacred river confluences, including Devprayag, Rudraprayag, Karnaprayag, Nandaprayag and Vishnuprayag.
Uttarakhand Char Dham registration is compulsory. Register every pilgrim using accurate identity details and select the correct dates for Kedarnath and Badrinath.
Complete registration through the official Uttarakhand Tourist Care portal. Carry valid photo identification and both digital and printed copies of the registration certificate.
Paid puja or aarti services are separate from the tour package unless expressly included. Use the official temple committee portal for authorised availability and conditions.
The price depends on the travel date, passenger count, vehicle, hotel category, room occupancy, meal plan and Kedarnath access method. Peak pilgrimage dates and limited accommodation can affect the final cost.
Helicopter, pony and palki costs should not be assumed to be part of the basic road package. Request a written quotation using the actual passenger and room requirements.
Simple hotels and practical transport for travellers seeking an economical Do Dham journey.
Comfortable accommodation, a suitable vehicle and confirmed breakfast-and-dinner arrangements.
Upgraded accommodation where available, a private vehicle and personalised planning assistance.
