Follow the legends of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati through the Garhwal Himalayas. This carefully paced journey combines Triyuginarayan Temple, Haridwar and a two-day Kedarnath trek with comfortable road transport and practical overnight stops.
Triyuginarayan Temple stands in Triyuginarayan village in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is traditionally associated with the divine wedding of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.
According to local belief, Lord Vishnu witnessed the wedding ceremony while Lord Brahma performed the priestly rituals. The fire burning in the temple's havan kund is regarded by devotees as the continuation of the sacred wedding fire, giving the temple its name—Triyuginarayan, or the flame believed to have endured through three ages.
The temple complex also includes sacred kunds associated with this legend. Visitors should approach the site respectfully, follow temple instructions and avoid making promises about rituals or access that have not been confirmed locally.
Triyuginarayan is in Rudraprayag district, not Chamoli district. The route is planned through Guptkashi, Sonprayag and the Kedarnath valley.
Visit the Vishnu temple traditionally believed to be the wedding place of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.
Follow a properly planned two-day trekking programme to one of Lord Shiva's most revered Himalayan shrines.
Travel through river valleys, mountain towns and the Mandakini corridor on the journey from Haridwar to Guptkashi.
Attend Ganga Aarti in Haridwar and temple prayers where timings, access and the operating calendar allow.
Distances and driving times are approximate. Weather, pilgrimage traffic, road restrictions and local transport queues can change the daily schedule.
Depart from Delhi and travel to Haridwar. After checking in, relax at the hotel. In the evening, visit Har Ki Pauri for Ganga Aarti, subject to arrival time, local traffic and crowd-control arrangements.
Night stay: Haridwar
Travel through Rishikesh, Devprayag, Srinagar and Rudraprayag towards the Kedarnath valley. Short confluence or temple stops may be included only when road conditions and daylight permit. Check in near Guptkashi, Sitapur or the confirmed pilgrimage base.
Night stay: Guptkashi, Sitapur or nearby
After breakfast, proceed towards Triyuginarayan village. Visit the temple, havan kund and other areas of the complex that are open to pilgrims. Spend time understanding the Shiva–Parvati wedding legend and enjoying the surrounding mountain setting.
Vehicle access, parking and any last-mile walk depend on current local traffic arrangements. Return to the hotel early enough to prepare for the Kedarnath journey.
Night stay: Guptkashi, Sitapur or nearby
Leave before dawn and transfer to Sonprayag. Continue by authorised local transport to Gaurikund, subject to the current traffic system and queue. Begin the uphill trek to Kedarnath. Walking commonly requires 6–8 hours, but personal fitness, weather and trail congestion can increase the time.
Pony or palki services may be hired directly through authorised counters, subject to availability and government rates. After arrival, check in and visit Kedarnath Temple according to the day's darshan arrangements.
Night stay: Kedarnath in a basic hotel, lodge or camp
Attend morning darshan when possible, then begin the descent to Gaurikund. Continue by local transport to Sonprayag and meet the designated tour vehicle at the confirmed pickup point.
Return to the hotel and rest. The programme intentionally keeps this night near the Kedarnath base instead of adding an unsafe long-distance drive.
Night stay: Guptkashi, Sitapur or nearby
Depart very early and return to Delhi through Rudraprayag, Devprayag and Rishikesh. Meal and comfort stops will be taken en route. Arrival is expected late in the evening and remains subject to mountain and city traffic.
Families, senior citizens and travellers connecting to a flight or train should add a seventh day with an overnight stop in Rishikesh or Haridwar.
Kedarnath shuttle helicopters generally operate from authorised helipads such as Guptkashi, Phata and Sirsi. Tickets are not automatically included in this road package and must be confirmed separately through the authorised booking channel.
Helicopter services are weather-dependent and may be delayed or cancelled. Keep a recovery night in the itinerary and never schedule a non-refundable Delhi flight or train immediately after a mountain helicopter movement.
Badrinath is not included in this six-day package. Adding it to the same itinerary would make the programme rushed and operationally unsafe after the Kedarnath trek.
After returning from Kedarnath, add Guptkashi to Badrinath, one night in Badrinath, Badrinath to Rudraprayag and a final return to Delhi. Ask TravelTrek for the separate Triyuginarayan, Kedarnath and Badrinath itinerary.
Kedarnath is planned over two days instead of promising an impossible same-day road visit and return.
Cars, tempo travellers and group vehicles are proposed according to passenger count and current mountain-road conditions.
Accommodation, sharing arrangement, helicopter requests and extra recovery nights can be adjusted to the group's needs.
It is located in Triyuginarayan village in Rudraprayag district, Uttarakhand, near the Kedarnath pilgrimage corridor.
The Vishnu temple is traditionally believed to mark the divine wedding place of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.
No. The road journey ends at Gaurikund after the Sonprayag transfer system, followed by an approximately 16 km uphill trek to Kedarnath.
This is not recommended for walking pilgrims. The package includes an overnight stay near Kedarnath and another night near the base after descent.
No. An eight-day version is recommended when Badrinath is added to Triyuginarayan and Kedarnath.
Yes, subject to ticket availability, weather and official operations. Helicopter tickets require separate confirmation and payment.
Kedarnath pilgrims should complete registration through the official Uttarakhand Tourist Care portal and carry the required documents.
It can be customised, but seniors should obtain medical advice, consider authorised assistance and add a seventh recovery day for the return journey.
The advance amount and balance deadline are stated in the written quotation. Confirmation is issued only after the required advance is received.
