Enjoy this 6.6-kilometer out-and-back track near Port Angeles, Washington. Generally regarded as a difficult route. Because this is a popular hiking region, you will most likely come across other people while exploring. This trail is best visited between April and October. Dogs are not permitted on this trail, so leave them at home.


Mount Storm King is one of Lake Crescent's most popular paths. Even with its popularity, there are some critical concerns to make before hiking.


The first two miles of the path are steep ascents to a "End of Maintained Trail" sign. The route above this point is not maintained by Olympic National Park. The final quarter mile is a steep rocky terrain with a succession of ropes. These ropes are only available in

Please be aware that the majority of injuries on this trail occur when hikers descend the rope part. You should keep this in mind while you ascend and consider whether you will be comfortable descending.


SAR operations are typical on the Mount Storm King Trail; many SARs occur each year as a result of hikers being unprepared and/or underestimating their ability.
