This route begins near the small community of Eldora, west of Nederland, at the Hessie Trailhead off County Road 130 and leads to the Devil's Thumb Trail. After traveling for a while on this trail, you'll come to a trail intersection. The trail straight ahead follows Middle Boulder Creek until it reaches King Lake. Stay left and follow the Devil's Thumb Bypass to reach the Lost Lake Trail.
