Triund Trek – A Complete Guide 2026
(A 5-Day Travel Story from Delhi to the Clouds)
There are trips you plan… and then there are journeys that stay with you forever.
Our Triund Trek 5-day adventure from Delhi was one of those unforgettable experiences — filled with mountain views, laughter in the car, bonfire nights, stargazing, and peaceful moments in the Himalayas.
Day 1 – Early Morning Start from Delhi (5:00 AM)
The journey began at 5:00 AM from Delhi in a comfortable Innova car. Our driver Naveen greeted us with a smile and ensured the vehicle was clean and ready.
As the sun slowly rose, we crossed Haryana and Punjab highways, stopping at a local dhaba for breakfast. Fresh parathas, hot chai, and mountain air ahead — the excitement had already started.
The best part? Jokes, singing old Bollywood songs, and nonstop laughter inside the Innova. That road trip vibe made the journey just as memorable as the destination.
By evening, we reached McLeod Ganj.
Night Stay in McLeod Ganj – Thrilomania Hostel
We stayed at Thrilomania Hostel, one of the most comfortable and traveler-friendly stays in McLeod Ganj.
The hostel owner Rajesh was extremely polite and humble. He personally ensured we were comfortable and even guided us about the trek route and local spots.

- Cozy common area
- Mountain-facing balconies
- Great food options nearby
Perfect place for backpackers and groups.
Local Sightseeing with Sonu – The Trusted Taxi
The next day, we explored local Dharamshala and McLeod Ganj with Sonu, our local taxi driver.

- Naddi View Point
- Dharamshala Cricket Stadium
- Monasteries
His local knowledge and friendly nature made sightseeing smooth and enjoyable.

As we climbed higher, the views kept getting better. Snow peaks of the Dhauladhar range slowly revealed themselves.
Night Stay at Triund Top – Bonfire & Stargazing
Reaching Triund Top was magical.
- Clouds floating below
- Sunset painting the sky orange and pink
- Cold mountain breeze
At night:
- Small bonfire session
- Group conversations
- Deep silence of mountains
- Millions of stars above us
Stargazing at Triund felt like sleeping under a galaxy.
Bir Billing – Paragliding Adventure
