Eligibility
- Age: Delta Airlines offers an Unaccompanied Minor service for children aged 5 to 14 years traveling alone. Children aged 15 to 17 years can use the service upon request.
- Flights: The service is available on both domestic and international flights. However, it is only available on non-stop and direct flights.
Fees
Cost: The Unaccompanied Minor service fee is $150 USD each way per child, in addition to the ticket price. This fee covers the supervision and assistance provided by Delta staff.
Booking Process
- Reservations: The Unaccompanied Minor service cannot be booked online. You must contact Delta Airlines' customer service to make a reservation.
- Required Information: When booking, provide the names, addresses, and phone numbers of the person dropping off the child and the person picking them up at the destination.
Drop-Off and Pick-Up
- Check-In: The guardian dropping off the child must check in at the airport counter and accompany the child to the gate. The guardian must remain at the airport until the flight has departed.
- Pick-Up: The designated person picking up the child must arrive at the airport early, present valid identification, and wait at the designated pick-up area. Only the person specified during the booking will be allowed to pick up the child.
In-Flight Experience
Supervision: Delta Airlines staff will supervise the child during the flight, assist with boarding and seating, and ensure the child is comfortable throughout the journey.
Connections
Transfer Assistance: If the child's trip includes a connecting flight, Delta staff will assist with the transfer and ensure the child safely boards the connecting flight.
Important Considerations
- Behavior: The child must be able to follow instructions from the crew and behave appropriately during the flight. Delta Airlines reserves the right to refuse service if the child cannot travel alone.
- Documentation: Ensure the child has all necessary documentation, such as a passport for international flights, visas, and contact information for the guardians.
